Lessons from Auschwitz
My friend James and I reflect on our experience of visiting Auschwitz with the Holocaust Education Trust in November. To help impart our experience we gave Year 9 an assembly. We then split the year into smaller groups and asked them ethical questions of the grey areas of the genocide, such as the role of bystanders whose inaction was the main factor of the sickening horrors that ensued. It was a great experience, and the feedback from those involved was brilliant.
